The Sunscape 138kV Substation was constructed to address electrical loading issues in the southwest area of Roanoke, Virginia. EEC provided the site design, surveying, wetland and stream delineation, archeological investigation, asbestos studies of buildings to be demolished, environmental reconnaissance, VDOT entrance permitting, geotechnical drilling, and preparation of site plans comprised of grading, road design, erosion and sediment controls, stormwater management, and SWPPP permitting. Additional services included archeological studies with consultation from the State Historic Preservation Office per Virginia State Corporation Commission project acceptance requirements.
