Lakewatch Plantation Subdivision

Smith Mountain Lake, VA

Lakewatch Plantation is a large subdivision project located at Smith Mountain Lake, VA. Part of the land encompassed in this project was an existing wetland with numerous streams crossing desired paths of entry and exit to other parts of site. EEC was contracted to provide a plan to minimize wetland impact as well as to minimize stream disturbance on the site.

EEC began work by delineating the wetland areas as well as identifying potential impacts to stream courses. EEC then developed the management plan, and has been closely involved as construction moves forward at the site. EEC is conducting ongoing stream monitoring and plant identification and mapping in the affected wetland areas to ensure the health of the ecosystem and to assist Lakewatch's developers in their compliance efforts with all concerned agencies.
